Advisory board

As part of the W.I.N. community, the W.I.N. International Board of Advisors (IBA) brings together international women leaders from around the globe who assist W.I.N. in inspiring women leaders to action worldwide. It is a group of champions and functions as a sounding board, actively giving input, advice and useful contacts that facilitate the activities of the organization and promote the success of W.I.N.’s annual global leadership conference and other W.I.N. activities.

W.I.N. also thanks and appreciates all the support, input and enthusiasm it receives from the many others who contribute ideas and talent to continue to build the organization.

Zohreh Tabatabai, Managing Partner, Quince Partners

  Zohreh Tabatabai is a familiar face on the diplomatic and global business arenas, having spent many years in high profile positions in the United Nations system. As the chief coordinator of the UN’s Fiftieth Anniversary Celebration, she created new strategies for assembling public-private partnerships to assure the success of the event, and she coordinated the activities of more than 100 heads of state who travelled to New York to participate. During her 20 years at UN headquarters, Ms. Tabatabai also served as Focal Point for Women and as Chief of the Public Services Section. Throughout her tenure, she pioneered methods for bringing in outside partners to work on extending the UN’s visibility and effectiveness across and broad range of initiatives. Prior to founding Quince Partners, Ms. Tabatabai served nearly 10 years as Director of Communication and Public Information at the International Labour Organization, the Geneva-based UN agency that promotes rights at work, where she developed new strategies and tools for raising global awareness of the organization’s work. Ms. Tabatabai serves on the boards of a number of non-governmental organizations, non-profit institutions and charitable foundations.

 

Rosanna D’Antona (Italy), Founder / President D’Antona & Partners

  In March 2003 Rosanna founded D’Antona&Partners, a company providing senior consultancy in communication and corporate communication. Major clients: ABI, Alessi, Barilla, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, BNL Group BNP Paribas, Deloitte Consulting, Ferrarelle, Moroccan Tourism Office, Pfizer Italia, Porsche Design, Sanofi Aventis, Sharp, Stanleybetting, Véolia Environment. (www.dantonapartners.it) Before founding D’Antona&Partners she was President & CEO of Edelman Europe for four years, after having been the General Manager of Edelman Milan which she founded in 1987 as Gruppo D’. Among her clients, there are many important multinational companies including Barilla, P&G, J&J and Unilever. On top of her professional commitment and presence in several association boards, Rosanna is currently scientific advisor, trainer and coach in Marketing & Communication for Il Sole 24 Ore Formazione. She is also strongly committed in many activities to promote “Women in business and leadership”. Among many seminars and conferences, she has held speeches for the W.I.N. annual conference since 2001 and has been coach for companies such as Accenture, A.T.Kearney, Woolwich Bank, Kodak, J&J, Shell, McKinsey. In 2002 she was awarded with the “Mela D’Oro” of Bellisario Foundation, a group whose mission is to promote women’s leadership in Italy. She has been the Regional Responsible in Lombardia for 5 years. Rosanna has a degree as an interpreter in English and French from the Haut Institut d'Interpretariat of Milan and attended Boston University, Massachusetts to major in Public Relations. She is married with 2 daughters, Francesca and Anna.

  Dr. Nuria Chinchilla is Professor in Managing people in organizations (IESE Business School) and Director of the International Center for Work and Family. President and Founder of the company NCH & Partners. Economist and Lawyer, she holds a PhD on Management. She is a business and government consultant and member of several Advisory Boards such as VIP Advisory Board of European Professional Women’s Network (EPWN).She is a frequent guest speaker at European, American and African Universities and International Congresses as well as visiting professor at Business Schools.Co-author of several books, such as "No matter where you are: balancing work and family", “Owners of our destiny: How to balance professional, family and personal life” (Ariel 2007) “Being a Family-responsible company: ¿Luxury or need?” (Pearson Prentice Hall 2006), “Female Ambition: How to Reconcile Work and Family (Palgrave 2005). She is also author of the book Directors’ Rotation which earned the EADA prize in 1996. She has received severals awards including the FEDEPE prize for Woman Manager of the year in 2001 or the Interban Networki prize for “Most Valuable Speaker 2007”.

  Meg is passionate about the economic empowerment of women, particularly through realizing a legislative, regulatory and administrative environment that enables women to reach their full potential in export-oriented production and as entrepreneurs. As the Women and Trade Programme Advisor, International Trade Centre, Geneva, Meg is responsible designing a multi-year multimillion dollar programme in support of assisting women in developing countries derive greater economic benefit from their participation in trade. Meg has worked for the United Nations both as a representative of her native Australia and as an international civil servant at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights. Meg’s private sector experience is in the financial markets and management consultancy, which was later followed by university appointments. She has direct experience as an entrepreneur, having established a Swiss-based consultancy firm working on trade and the social dimensions of trade. Meg’s publications examine gender equality and export performance (commissioned by the United Nations) and gender in the WTO services negotiations. She holds a Masters in International Relations and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney having studied in Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia. She sits on the board of several non-profit organizations and speaks fluent Japanese and French.

 

Lyly Rojas (Nicaragua/USA/Europe/Asia), Humanitarian, Professor of Corporate Social Responsibility/Peacemaking, Aphasiologist, Author, Consultant

  Professor Dr. Lyly Rojas humanitarian, University Professor, consultant, speaker, writer and W.I.N. board member focuses on the impact of global living. She trains professionals in diverse multi-cultural topics, having worked in war zones with everyone from tortured women to leading Buddhist monks and from diplomats to business executives to UN organizations. Her emphasis in life and work is on healing fragmentation - whether it be personal, professional, national, or global. She teaches ways to unify radically different points of view. Professor Rojas also teaches Corporate Social Responsibility and the Culture of Peace. Co-founder of the Peaceful Heart Project in Zambia and leader of inner adventures in the outdoors, she welcomes meeting you.

 

Lorella Zanardo (Italy), Entrepreneur. Founder and General Manager, ILCORPO DELLE DONNE/ Sportgate

  She is the author and director of Il Corpo delle Donne (Women’s Bodies), a documentary film about the exploitation of women in the Italian media. Author of a best seller book about women issues, she writes regularly on a very successful blog www.ilcorpodelledonne.com with the purpose to enhance awareness on gender gap. Organizational consultant, educator and professor. She is a well-known speaker at international conferences on women’s issues. She served in important managerial roles for multinationals both in Italy and abroad, in Paris too from where she coordinated European projects. She has been a consultant and a professor in Eastern countries, under the leadership of the European Union. She has been long involved in managing organizational changes. She was in charge of the Diversity Management project, having learned the process in Canada and United States. She coordinated the first Master’s in the Ethics of Business. She studied acting, singing and dancing for many years.

 

Lisa Kepinski (Germany), Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer - AXA Group

  Lisa brings over 20 years experience working in diverse, global environments in HR functions of Diversity & Inclusion (D&I), Staffing, and Learning & Development, in addition to PR/Communications. In fall 2010, Lisa joined AXA as the Group Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer. Prior to this, she was with Microsoft & Hewlett-Packard (HP), as a global senior director for D&I, setting strategic direction internationally. Lisa brings deep content expertise on many dimensions of diversity & inclusion, works closely with executive leadership teams. Lisa has an M.A. degree in Linguistics, specializing in gender communication, and a B.S. degree in Psychology. Lisa has lived and worked in 5 countries (to date) and travelled extensively in her global roles. As typical of ‘multi-culti’ families, there are multiple languages and cultural norms at home, with Lisa originally from the US and her husband and 2 daughters originally from Poland. Lisa enjoys her time between working in Paris and living at the family’s permanent home in the German Alps.

 

Linda Love (USA/UK), Head of Learning & Development, Adecco Group UK/Ireland

  Linda heads up the Learning and Development function for the Adecco Group UK/Ireland, a global recruitment business. She began her career with Arthur Andersen & Co. and her experience working with Fortune 500 companies such as Adecco and Xerox Corporation have helped build expertise across the HR realm. Linda focuses special emphasis on strategic leadership development, talent management, employee engagement and building strong teams. Part of her work that she really loves is the opportunities that have come from working throughout Western and Eastern Europe as well as programs she has helped implement in China. A native of New York City with a degree in Industrial Psychology, she has also completed the 3-year Adecco Leadership Program at the Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne. Linda moved to Milan, Italy in 1994 and worked as a management development consultant throughout the EU, focusing on those working in a multicultural business environment. After moving to London in 2000 she took on the role of International Training Manager for Izodia Plc, moving to Adecco and then Spring. She currently lives in London with her fun-loving London-born husband. Linda has been involved in women's professional networking for the past 15 years. She is a past President of the Milan Professional Women’s Association and a former Board member of the London City Women’s Network. She is very pleased to be a member of the W.I.N. Advisory Board. An inspiring public speaker, she has been a regular presenter at the W.I.N. Conference since its inception.

 

Josefine M.C. van Zanten (Switzerland/Netherlands). Vice President, Diversity and Inclusion, Shell International

  Josefine van Zanten is the Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion for Royal Dutch Shell. In this role, she is responsible for Global D&I thought leadership, strategy development, and oversees an expert team of D&I consultants who work with the Businesses and Functions. Her leadership skills and ability to drive both strategy and clear deliverables, have moved the Royal Dutch Shell’s D&I journey from an early ‘awareness’ stage to a more advanced ‘business enabler’ stage. During her tenure, Shell has seen a steady improvement in all three of its D&I goals. During the same time, the Global D&I department received a number of awards, such as the 2009 “International Innovation in Diversity” award for the focus and work on Inclusion. Prior to this role, Josefine was the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Diversity and Inclusion director for Hewlett-Packard. Josefine has lived in Europe and the US. She speaks fluent French, English, Dutch and German. She is a Swiss and Dutch national.

 

JoAnne Freeman (Canada/Switzerland), Founder SwimUpstream Professional Influence Training

  JoAnne founded SwimUpstream to provide experiential leadership training. Her unique approach blends extensive JoAnne Freeman created SWIM upstream to offer influence and positive impact skills to people wanting to get ahead. She has mastered a proven approach to boosting professional advancement and recognition. She is recognized for powerful training for aspiring women professionals and for innovative techniques to meeting facilitation. Three workshops of unique design; Leadership for Women, Marketing Brand Me, and The Art of Meeting Facilitation enjoy high demand across Europe. JoAnne was responsible for Management Education at Digital Equipment Corporation after coming to Geneva from Canada. She graduated from Carleton university in Sociology and has diplomas in International Cooperation, Dramatherapy and Transactional Analysis. Her early career includes managing humanitarian projects in Niger, Indonesia, Nepal and Haiti for the Canadian aid agency CIDA and for Canadian NGOs. She has taught Sociology and Organization Development at Colleges in Toronto, Montreal and Geneva. She regularly facilitates meetings to clarify purpose and strategy and to help teams resolve conflict and motivation issues. She trains aspiring women for board membership and for senior leadership positions. Her coaching competencies cover personal branding and influence, mastering office politics and presenting with impact.JoAnne has regular speaking engagements for corporations, professional networks and conferences. She serves on the Board of Advisors of WIN, the Women’s: International Networking conference is past president of the Career Women’s Forum in Geneva and is the lead associate for Diafora Leadership Training in Paris.

 

Hélène Ratte (France), Consultant

  Hélène Ratte is a French based consultant, bringing her international experience and background in Human Resources and global management. She is currently a Partner of Diverseo, Consulting firm delivering services on Diversity management. From 1992 to 2009, she was a Partner of Deloitte, with experience in Human Resources management at the local, regional and global level – and extended contributions in career development, partnership management, and mobility. Her latest global assignment was to develop a culture change to improve the advancement and retention of women. Before, Hélène served as HR and finance Director for McKinsey in France and as deputy to the HR Management leader of L’Oréal. French by birth, international in mindset, she is fluent in English, has worked with different cultures and countries. Early supporter of PPWN, she is member of the W.I.N. International Advisory Board. She has an MBA from INSEAD, a BA in Economics Science from the Lille University and is a graduate of EDHEC.

 

Gry Tina Tinde (Norway), Diversity Advisor, Inter-American Development Bank

  Tina joined the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, D.C. in May 2009 as diversity advisor in human resources. She is developing a diversity strategy for the organization and planning a women's conference for mid-November 09. From 2004-09 Tina was gender advisor to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Geneva where she set up a fundraising program for refugees: Women Leading for Livelihoods. Earlier Tina worked for the Council of the Baltic Sea States in Stockholm, the Ministry of Defence and Norwegian Institute of International Affairs in Oslo and with the UN and UNHCR in New York, Ex-Yugoslavia and Cambodia. Tina is working on her first novel about a young woman’s struggles in a UN peacekeeping operation. She recently published her study on top UN peacebuilders’ lack of inclusion of women in peace-building activities in Refugee Survey Quarterly. Tina has a master's degree in anthropology and journalism from the University of Montana, USA, a Diploma in Advanced European Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium and a BA in political science, French and German from the University of Oslo, Norway. Tina speaks four of the six UN official languages plus Norwegian and German. She works with fervour to support women’s careers and believes women would be equally represented with men at top levels, be it in the private or public sector, if competencies were all that mattered in the selection.

 

Graziella Zanoletti (Italy/Switzerland), CIO Chief Inspiring Officer and Founder, Elite Rent-a-Car

  Born in Brescia, Italy, Graziella studied first to be a school teacher and later became yoga and sailing teacher at the Club Med in Sardinia. In 1987 in Geneva, she founded Elite Rent a Car, which is today the European leader in chauffeured services and prestige car rentals with stations in Switzerland, France, Monaco, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, and Austria. When in 2003, the Veuve Clicquot jury chose Graziella as Swiss Business Woman of the year, they were honouring a woman who has built on human values a successful unusual business. In 2000, she started Elite’s social responsibility program, with a first project in women education in Kabul. Beginning 2006, she was invited in Athens for the 1st Business Community round-table against Human Trafficking by H.E. Suzanne Mubarak. To increase awareness about this new form of slavery, she launched in Geneva a help-line to assist victims of human traffic. In 2007 she founded Friends of Humanity a non-profit company to support humanitarian projects. Graziella’s aim: bring a positive impact to women and children in need, improve their state of life and be a light-worker. Utopia? Maybe, after all, this is the definition of a Business Woman...

 

Elisabeth Trallero (Spain), CEO & President, Smiling S.A.

  Elisabeth graduated with an MBA from ESADE Business School in Barcelona and is now finishing her PhD on “Diversity on Boards of Directors of European multinational companies in Europe”. She is accustomed to traveling and being successful in global business as she speaks seven European languages fluently. After ten years of working in marketing departments of multinational companies such as Clorox, Cinzano and Pracsa, she decided to join the family- owned group of businesses CONGOST PLASTIC, SMILING, CONCORAL, ECOAROME. She is happily married and is the mother of three boys aged 15, 10 and 7. She also dedicates part of her little free time to being an MBA Professor in different prestigious Business Schools and to defending Professional Women for “Equal Job, Equal Pay”, in some Professional Women Associations such as AFAEMME, EWMD, and ACEE.

 

Elin Hurvenes (Norway), Founder, Professional Boards Forum

  Elin Hurvenes is a London Business School MBA and has a BA from Oxford Brooks University. She worked in London for consultants Colin Buchanan & Partners before returning to her native Norway in 1995 and working as a business development & innovation consultant. She founded the Professional Boards Forum in 2003 in response to the proposal by the Norwegian Government to legislate the number of female directors on company boards to 40%. The Professional Boards Forum bring together company owners and experienced business women and has been a tremendous success. She also provides a recruiting service for boardroom positions and recently placed female directors on the boards of the stock exchange winner, Eitzen Maritime Services, energy company Fjordkraft and the Canadian shipyard Davie Yards.

 

Danica Purg, President, IEDC-Bled School of Management

  Prof. Danica Purg is President of the IEDC-Bled School of Management, Slovenia, President of the Central and East European Management Development Association (CEEMAN) and President of UN Global Compact Slovenia. She is also leading the European Leadership Centre (ELC). In 2010 prof. Purg received the 2010 Dean of the Year Award by the Academy of International Business (AIB) for her outstanding achievements in international business education. Prof. Purg is professor of leadership and effective management. Her special field of interest is looking for inspirations for managers from art and other professions. She authored and co-authored several books and numerous articles. She is a frequent guest speaker at European and American universities and international conferences.Prof. Purg is also member of several international advisory boards. President of the Republic of Slovenia awarded her with the “Honorary Order of Freedom” for her contribution to management development in Slovenia and CEE.

Christel Verschaeren, Director Transformation & Adoption - Global BT/IT, IBM

  After having studied Economics Christel started working for IBM as Systems Engineer in the technical area. She works for IBM 24 years now and has worked in different technical positions as well as commercial & management positions. In 1999 she was asked to become the Assistant of the General Manager of IBM Belgium/Luxembourg, a unique jumpstart position. In 2000 she was promoted to lead the Sales Operations department in Belgium/Luxembourg. Since 7 years she works in IBM’s internal CIO organization.She is Director of Europe Integration and Global Change Management but she also has a secondary role: Gender diversity always has been her passion. She has led the IBM Belgium/Luxembourg Women Leadership Council for 3 years next to her day to day job and since 7 years she is Co-chair of the IBM’s Women Council in Europe. She also spends a lot of attention to mentoring of other women and leads a cross company mentoring program in IBM. She has a daughter who is 20 years old.

  Charleen has more than 20 years of experience as a global Human Resources director. She is recognized for her ability to build effective relationships and make strategic contributions that facilitate change across global boundaries. She has broad, in-depth HR knowledge and a proven track record in individual, organizational and leadership development, talent management and diversity to enable organizations align their people strategy with their business priorities. She has co-led a global company's European women's network strategy board, providing counsel to senior management and individuals on issues that affect women's careers in a corporate business environment. She holds a PhD in Polymer Science and is fluent in English, German and Swiss German and is learning Italian. Her interests include golf, photography, gardening, interior decorating, hiking and skiing. She is an active member of the W.I.N. IBA.

 

Carolyn J. Lutz (Switzerland), Partner, Lutz & Partners International Executive Search

  For the past 15 years Carolyn has been active in pan- European executive search, based in Geneva. She is a former Managing Partner of Heidrick & Struggles and now for the past five years has owned & managed has her own (all-female!) executive search firm, Lutz & Partners Sarl, with four consultants. Carolyn Lutz studied Psychology at Vassar as an undergraduate and later earned an MBA from Wharton. In between, Carolyn spent five years as a Captain in the US Marines; a superb learning experience. Post-MBA, Carolyn joined P&G in Geneva in marketing; working on the Swiss market and later managing Pringles Asia, based in Geneva. Swiss by birth, Carolyn speaks Swiss-German, French and English and is learning Italian. A guiding principle for Carolyn is achieving balance between professional success and a fulfilling personal life. Carolyn is married with two children, three cats and an Italian husband. Carolyn believes in staying fit, eating & drinking well, and having fun with friends & family.

 

Anne Stevens (UK), Vice President HR, Copper and Diamonds & Minerals, Rio Tinto

  Anne’s recent appointment as Vice President of People & Organisation in Rio Tinto’s Copper Group has broadened her portfolio to cover Health, Safety & Environment, Corporate Communications, Communities & Social Performance, External Affairs and Human Resources. She operates in a global business with a huge growth agenda and is driving people plans and actions to support that growth in Africa, Mongolia, South America, North America and Australia. Anne is passionate about achieving true business results and competitive edge through good people practices. She is a driving force in the area of diversity and is active in many international networks. She is particularly renowned for her courageous and practical approach to the development and advancement of women both in and out of the work place. As an international business woman and a mother of two, Anne brings an unusual combination of Business Management, Cultural Transformation and Human Resources from a number of industries – Financial Services, Manufacturing, IT, Consulting and Mining & Metals.

 

Ania Jakubowski (Canada/Poland/Switzerland), Category Director for Coca Cola HBC

  Ania Jakubowski resides in Athens, Greece working as the Category Director for Coca Cola HBC - for their Sparkling and Water division – responsible for 28 countries. Previously, she enjoyed a 20 year international career with Procter & Gamble, spanning North America, Eastern, Central and Western Europe; in sales, marketing, operational and market development roles, strategy and capability building roles. Born and raised in Canada, she graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University (Ontario) with honors in Bachelor of Business Administration. She is a dual passport holder, with her native roots stemming from Poland. She has lived a great deal of her professional career abroad; Poland, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland. Her appetite for exploring the world perhaps stems from somewhat of an international upbringing – having spent her formative years in India, and after completing her Canadian studies – she studied Russian at Moscow State University and taught English in the Czech Republic. Ania is an active member in the communities in which she lives. Besides being on the advisory board of W.I.N., she is Chair of the Advisory Board for OWIT International (Organization of Women in International Trade: www.owit.org) – and past President of OWIT International and the Swiss chapter - OWIT – Lake Geneva (www.owit-lakegeneva.org). Umran Beba (Turkey), President, PepsiCo Asia Pacific Region

Umran Beba is the President, Asia Pacific Region, PepsiCo. She joined PepsiCo in Turkey in 1994. Before assuming current position, Ms. Beba was President of South East Europe Region. Ms. Beba has been instrumental in leading PepsiCo’s Female Talent development efforts. In February 2010, Forbes Magazine named PepsiCo Turkey as the #1 company in Turkey for “fastest female advancement” out of 121 companies analyzed. In September 2010, Fortune magazine named Ms. Beba #23 in their list of the Most Powerful Women in Business. Ms. Beba is a Board Member of Calbee Group Japan, a Council Member of Foods Industry Asia, an Advisory Council Member of Women International Network, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Business School, and “Mentorship for Women for Board Seats” in Turkey. Ms. Beba holds an MBA and a BSc in Industrial Engineering. She lives in Hong Kong with her husband and their two sons.

Professor Toegel is a teacher, facilitator and researcher in the area of leadership and human behavior. Specialized in providing one-to-one leadership coaching and team-building workshops to top management teams in both the public and private sector, her major research focuses on leadership development, emotion in organizations, coaching and management consulting. Ginka Toegel has also been involved in executive programs at the London Business School and the Duke Corporate Education on the development of leadership skills for companies such as ArcelorMittal, Barclays, Danone, Deutsche Bank, Ericsson, Ernst & Young, Merck, Roche Diagnostics, Société Générale, Royal Bank of Scotland as well as many other corporations. She has taught on numerous programs: Leadership in Organizations: Theory & Practice, Organisational Theory & Behaviour, and Organisational Behaviour & Change at the London School of Economics. She received the Innovation in Teaching Award at the London Business School in 2001 and a Major Review Teaching Prize at the London School of Economics in 2006.
Simona Scarpaleggia (Italy), Retail Manager, IKEA

Simona Scarpaleggia is CEO for IKEA Switzerland. She joined IKEA in 2000 as Human Resources Manager for IKEA Italy and in that position she defined the company’s diversity strategy and implemented various projects aimed at managing diversity in different areas (gender, age, ethnicity). In 2004 she was appointed Store Manager for the build up and the management of the Rome store. She has previously worked as HR director for an American multinational in fast moving consumer goods sector, in an Italian engineering company having started to work in HR in a major chemical Italian company. In 2009 she co founded together with top female managers of other companies ValoreD, a non profit association aimed at promoting and facilitating with concrete actions the growth of female managers in Italy.
