2008 International Advisory Board
The W.I.N. International Board of Advisors (IBA) brings together international women leaders from around the globe who assist W.I.N. in inspiring women leaders to action worldwide. It functions as a sounding board, actively giving input, advice and useful contacts that facilitate the activities of the organization and promote the success of W.I.N.’s annual global leadership forum and other W.I.N. activities.
Ania Jakubowski (Canada/Poland/Switzerland)
Associate Director P&G Customer Business Development
Ania resides in Geneva, Switzerland working as an Associate Director (Brand Manager), in Marketing for Procter & Gamble (P&G). She has enjoyed a 16 year international career with P&G, spanning North America, Eastern, Central and Western Europe. Her career path has included operational sales and market development roles, strategy and capability building roles, and most recently brand management in Marketing. In addition to her business responsibilities she is active in the corporate mentoring programs, and European diversity efforts. Ania was born and raised in Canada, graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada with a Bachelor of Business Administration. She is a dual passport holder, with her native roots stemming from Poland. She has lived abroad a great deal of her life, including having spent her formative years in India, having studied Russian at Moscow State University, and teaching English in the Czech Republic. Ania is active in the community and a leader in supporting the advancement of women in business. She has held the post of President of the Geneva chapter (www.gwit.ch) of the Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT - www.owit.org) since 2005, an OWIT Board member since 2005, and is currently the Executive Vice President of OWIT International. She also reaches out to mentor students entering the work force through her links to Universities. Travel is a source of great inspiration and energy, in particular when she and her camera equipment get on safari.
Anne Stevens (UK)
International HR Leader and Transformation Consultant
Previously of IBM Business Consulting Services, Europe, Anne has established herself as an international thought leader and Consultant in the world of HR and cultural transformation. Anne has been a member of the WIN Advisory board since 2004 and brings many years of experience in helping organizations develop and implement people strategies across numerous industry sectors. She is well known for her innovative and practical approach to the advancement of women both in and out of the work place. She acts as a mentor and coach to many women all over the world and is a leading light in the area of diversity and life balance. She has most recently operated in the world of global trading within The City of London, where she is recognised for her challenging and insightful methods of developing a customised People Agenda.
Caroline Houdent (France)
International Resourcing Leader, IBM
Caroline joined IBM in 1989 after graduating from EDHEC, a French business school. Starting in the PC Division, she spent seven years in a number of different sales and marketing jobs, followed by six years as a client manager in the Financial Services Sector. After all those years in sales, and because of IBM strategy and growth in services and strategic outsourcing, she wished to understand Strategic Outsourcing Service Delivery from the inside. She had several management positions in this division from first line people management to third line pan-European responsibilities. In 2006, she was appointed as Manager, Workforce Diversity for Europe, Middle East Africa. Her experience in various business units and roles in IBM and her passion for people were seen as key to succeed with her team in driving the diversity programmes that support IBM Corporation’s goals and values. Since the end of 2007, Caroline re-joined IT Delivery to lead Resource Management across the Global Delivery Centers located all over the world. In this role, she is responsible for the hiring, skills strategy and education of the several thousand employees in those centers, as well as making sure the skills are available and in adequation with IBM’s outsourcing European customers. Outside IBM, Caroline is a mother to twin 14 year old boys. In her leisure time, she enjoys skiing and going to the movies. She likes to keep up with the latest news from the medical world, in magazine articles, TV programs and so on. And, as you might expect from someone from the country that gave the world "haute cuisine", Caroline enjoys gastronomy!
Carolyn J. Lutz (Switzerland)

Carolyn and her business partner Anne Ferretjans are co-owners of what is probably Switzerland's only all-female ' boutique ' executive search firm, with offices in Zurich and Geneva. The firm serves mostly multinational clients in consumer, healthcare, luxury, and general industry. Lutz & Partners provides research-based pan-European executive search, for clients with strong brands and with either Global or EMEA headquarters in Switzerland. While the firm insists on always placing the best candidate for the role -be that candidate male or female - the firm has a commitment to diversity and is delighted to help clients who would particularly like to find great female talent. Carolyn has been active in pan-European executive search for the past 12 years and is a former Managing Partner of the Heidrick & Struggles Geneva office. Carolyn also draws on her experience in Marketing with Procter & Gamble in Geneva and with La Prairie in Zurich; initially working on the Swiss market and later managing the Pringles brand for Asia. She earned a degree in Psychology from Vassar College, followed by an MBA from the Wharton School and an MA in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. In the intervening five years, Carolyn was an Officer in the US Marine Corps; this experience included serving as Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General of the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing in Asia. A citizen of both Switzerland and Italy, Carolyn is fluent in English, (Swiss-) German, and French, and is improving her Italian. Carolyn is married and has two children.

She has been an active leader of the company's European women's network strategy board, providing counsel to senior management and individuals on issues that affect women's careers in a corporate business environment. She holds a PhD in Polymer Science, and is fluent in English, German and Swiss German, and is learning Italian. Her interests include skiing, gardening (particularly roses), interior decorating and hiking.

Lately interested (obsessed) in new technologies as communication platforms for fund & awareness raising.Born surrounded by 20 million nationals in Mexico City, Claudia lives since 4 years in a 32 house-village surrounded by cows and horses with husband Nicolas and kids Joshua (2) and Tamara (1).Claudia’s background embraces modeling, diplomacy, journalism and film-making. Her studies include a Masters in Media, specialized in globalization from LSE, and degrees in Communications and Philosophy from Mexico. She speaks 6 languages and has published in numerous places since 1990. Claudia is Advisory Board Member of Women for Women International and the Founder of Geneva Communications Professionals Network. She was previously the Head of Public Relations for the World Economic Forum.
Denise Andrews (USA)

Denise is COO and Managing Partner of Legacy Unlimited, a global consulting company specializing in leadership development, diversity, and inclusion. She has an undying passion to make the world a better place. Previously, Ms. Andrews served as a respected leader of change for business, globalization and diversity within the Procter & Gamble Company. Ms. Andrews has 27 years of business leadership in Manufacturing, Human Resources and Business Management. She, also, served as a key designer and Global Leader for Procter & Gamble’s premier leadership development and diversity initiative. Through this initiative over 8000 people, from more than 103 countries, were exposed to the concepts of embracing the rich diversity of our world. This, also, led to individuals becoming more effective leaders and family members. Ms. Andrews is an experienced strategist, master trainer, executive advisor and designer of high performance leadership. Ms. Andrews’ principles that guide her life are to whom much is given much is required, boldly walk under God’s anointing, choose to be a good local and global citizen, leave a legacy from which all families benefit and free to dance in every country. Ms. Andrews has a partner of 21 years and a rich extended family. She was raised in Massachusetts, and currently resides in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. Elin Hurvenes (Norway)
Founder, Professional Boards Forum
Elin founded the Professional Boards Forum in 2003 in response to the Norwegian Government’s proposal to legislate the number of female directors on company boards to 40 %. Initially, business communities and company owners were outraged by the proposal claiming they did not know where or how to find qualified women. The Professional Boards Forum brings together company owners, CEOs, chairmen and experienced business women and has been a great success. The Forum is sponsored by a number of corporations, the Ministry for Trade and Industry and Innovation Norway. Norway has, in the space of 5 years, achieved an unprecedented increase in female boardroom representation from 6 to 40%. Elin now also runs a recruiting service for board positions and recently placed female directors on the boards of the Oslo Stock Exchange winner, Eitzen Maritime Services, the energy company Fjordkraft and Canadian shipyard, Davie Yards. She is a London Business School MBA and is currently working to bring the Professional Boards Forum to the UK.
Elisabeth Trallero (Spain)

Elisabeth graduated with an MBA from ESADE Business School in Barcelona and is now finishing her PhD on “Diversity on Boards of Directors of European multinational companies in Europe”. She is accustomed to travel and being successful in global business as she speaks seven European languages fluently. After ten years of working in marketing departments of multinational companies like CLOROX, CINZANO and PRACSA, she decided to join the family owned group of businesses CONGOST PLASTIC, SMILING, CONCORAL, ECOAROME,… She is happily married and is the mother of three small boys of 15, 10 and 7 years old. She also dedicates part of her little free time to being an MBA Professor in different prestigious Business Schools and to defending Professional Women for the “Equal Job, Equal Pay”, in some Professional Women Associations such as AFAEMME, EWMD, and ACEE.

Helene Ratte (France)

A graduate of the EDHEC in 1974, and receiving an INSEAD MBA in 1983 , Helene, after a beginning of career in a recruitment agency , became Chef of the Personnel for El Paso Natural Gas, then Attaché to the Management of Human Resources of L'Oréal. In 1986, she joined McKinsey in Paris as the Director of Human Resources and Administration. Helene entered Deloitte in 1992 as the Director of Human Resources France, co-opted Partner in 1994, and became the Director of Human Resources Europe in 1999. Since 2007, she is in charge of developing Advancement and Retention of Women globally.
JoAnne Freeman (Canada/Switzerland)

JoAnne founded SwimUpstream to provide experiential leadership training. Her unique approach blends extensive experience in global corporations, UN agencies, hi-tech start-ups and commercial enterprises. She is recognized for innovative techniques for meeting facilitation and team effectiveness and in particular for personal promotion and influence. Her training incorporates elements of Dramatherapy and Transactional Analysis. Three workshops of unique design; SWIM: Leadership for Women, Marketing Brand Me, and Skillful Meeting Facilitation enjoy high demand across Europe. JoAnne managed rural development programmes for CIDA, the UN and small NGOs in Niger, Haiti and Indonesia before coming to Geneva where she was responsible for Management Education at Digital Equipment Corporation. JoAnne is a regular speaker at women’s professional networks and conferences, and she is an associate of DIAFORA, gender training and coaching, and a proud member of the W.I.N Advisory Board. She has co-founded TEN the Trainer’s Exchange Network in Geneva.
Gry Tina Tinde (Norway)
Creator of Women Leading for Livelihoods (WLL) and Special Advisor at the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
Tina helps advance gender equality among 30 million refugees and internally displaced globally and 6,000 UNHCR staff. Her brainchild Women Leading for Livelihoods develops skills and business opportunities for refugee women, thanks to funding and advice from executive and philanthropist women worldwide. Before re-joining UNHCR in 2004, Tina held jobs such as Senior Advisor at the Council of the Baltic Sea States in Stockholm, Advisor at the Norwegian Defence Ministry, and researcher at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI). She entered the UN Dept. of Public Information in New York in 1989 via the national competitive exam in social development. She worked six years with the UN in New York and Cambodia and one year with UNHCR in the former Yugoslavia. Tina has a master's degree in anthropology and journalism from the University of Montana, USA, a Diploma in Advanced Europan Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium, and a BA in political science, French and German from the University of Oslo, Norway. Tina speaks five languages and is learning Russian at the UN. She has found a publisher for her first novel, which is loosely based on her experiences in peacekeeping operations.
Josefine M.C. van Zanten (Switzerland/Netherlands)
Global Head of Diversity and Inclusiveness, Shell International, Shell Learning
Josefine is responsible for working with the Businesses and Functions to drive D&I further in to the organization’s main processes and systems, enhance key D&I activities in Talent, Learning and Development, and represent Royal Dutch Shell’s internal and external D&I messaging. She manages a direct team of D&I consultants and an extended team of D&I focal points referred to as the DINet and D&I practitioners. Together, they oversee the continued enhancement and on-going implementation of D&I activities in HR and Business processes, and drive a common D&I agenda into the organization. Some of the most recent activities include visible D&I considerations for the enhanced Group talent process, offering a different look at the Group’s Diversity and Inclusion Index reports, which resulted in new actions to address the inclusion of underrepresented groups, and collaborating closely with External and Internal communications to embed the company’s D&I message into their respective strategies. Josefine is a member of TalentNet, LearnNet, and leads the DINet. She and her team collaborate closely with Recruitment, Communications and are actively participating in key business growth projects such as GP’s Pearl Project in Qatar. Under her management, Shell has made strong progress in all its D&I measures: gender, local nationals, and inclusion. Previous to this role at Shell, Josefine was the Europe, Middle East and Africa Diversity and Inclusion director for HP. During her tenure, HP EMEA was the only region within HP that reached its D&I target. Josefine has further professional experience in procurement, finance and marketing, and has lived in Europe and The US. She speaks fluent French, English, Dutch and German. She holds a BA from Portland State University, Portland, Oregon, and an MBA from the University of Geneva, Geneva, Switzerland. Josefine has two grown up children. Her interests include hiking, skiing, and Art.
Kristin Engvig (Norway)
Founder and director of W.I.N. global forum, Women’s International Networking
Kristin started to work with women in 1994 when she took on the role as President of the Professional Women’s Association in Milan. As a social entrepreneur she founded W.I.N. in 98 in Milan believing “women have a vital role to play in shaping the future” and “wishing to bring a more feminine, global and sustainable vision to work, communities and life “. The idea, an annual conference aimed to empower, develop and connect women leaders with this vision and a platform to connect international women’s networks for year around networking came about. She is leading the leadership journey at W.I.N. and has designed and written the visionary programs of all W.I.N. forums. She has marketed, raised funds and built up the organization from her kitchen to what it now represents: a globally renowned organization. Kristin is an innovative thinker, known for picking up trends early and encouraging women to live creatively and shape their own future. She is a speaker on topics such as leadership, empowerment, networking and entrepreneurship. Kristin has worked in global companies (JPMorgan, Citibank, Norwegian export council) and as international consultant and trainer (strategy, intercultural management and marketing/market research) in Western and Eastern Europe as well as Japan. She holds Msc degree in Business and Marketing from (HA/BI) Oslo and an MBA from SDA Bocconi, Milan. She has travelled extensively and worked with women from all continents. In 2006 she was finalist for the European Women of Achievement Award. Art is central in her life and she has studied and practiced acting, creativity, yoga and Zen for a number of years. She is the mother of Leonardo, 6 years old. She lives in Europe.
Linda Love (USA/UK)

Linda heads up the Training and Development function for the Adecco Group UK, the world leader in human resource solutions. Linda directs an award-winning (2005 London Times Top 100 Companies No. 2 in “Best in Training and Development”) team of 15 exceptional training and strategy consultants who deliver learning and development solutions to around 4,000 delegates a year. A native of New York City with a degree in Industrial Psychology, Linda spent the first half of her career working with Arthur Andersen & Co, and Xerox Systems. She moved to Milan, Italy in 1994 and worked as a trainer and consultant throughout the EU, focusing on working in a multicultural business environment. Linda moved to London in 2000 where she and her husband currently reside. She is a past President of the Milan Professional Women’s Association and Board of the London City Women’s Network. An inspiring public speaker, she has been a regular presenter at the W.I.N. Conference.
Lorella Zanardo (Italy)
Entrepreneur. Founder and General Manager, Sportgate
Lorella has worked in the marketing field for many years, holding positions of responsibilities in Italian companies and foreign multinationals. She has been European Brand Manager for Uniliver in Milan and Paris, as well as Marketing Director for Gruppo Mondadori. She has worked as a training specialist and consultant for the East European Countries, also following community projects within the Diversity Management. As a Marketing Lecturer, she has organised and chaired innovative courses on basic themes of Change for organizations and individuals. Awarded with a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Zanardo boasts a previous degree in English and German literature. She has been theatre and cinema actress, taking part in expressive research projects. She lives with her 2 children, practices yoga and is currently writing a book on the developing role of women in society and organizations. She is heading Sportgate, a company specialised in consultancy services and innovative training, proposed both through the sport practice and through the stories of great Olympic champions.
Lyly Rojas (Nicaragua/USA/Europe/Asia)
International Consultant, Aphasiologist/Author
Professor Rojas has served on the board of the World Council of Psychotherapy and presently sits on the board of W.I.N. She writes a column "Inner World Outer World" dealing with all aspects of globalized living. In addition she trains professionals from diplomats to health care specialists to business executives in such diverse multi-cultural topics as cultural violence; living in transitional times; post-traumatic stress disorders; women and power; racism and the new leader; and self knowledge in the context of group heterogeneity. Her emphasis in life and work is on healing fragmentation - whether it be personal, professional, national, or multinational. As a consultant to UN organizations, businesses and NGOs she works to unify radically different points of view. Most recently she has worked in war zones with tortured women, with the leaders of humanitarian aid organizations and even with leading Buddhist monks seeking to understand diversity among western students. Professor Rojas teaches socially responsible business practices at several Universities.
Meg Jones (Australia)
Women in Trade Programme Advisor, International Trade Centre UNCTAD/WTO
Recognising that the economic empowerment of women contributes to economic growth and human development, Meg has been tasked by the ITC, a UN body, to develop a 'Women in Trade' programme for the organisation. As owner/director of an SME, the former Deputy Director of the Evian Group at IMD (a think tank on trade) and with previous experience working for the United Nations both as a representative of her native Australia and as an international civil servant, Meg is melding a range of perspectives into the ITC programme. She believes that women will achieve economic empowerment only when we - including particpants in WIN - work together to call for changes to legislative, regulatory and administrative frameworks in support of working women. Meg’s private sector experience is in the financial markets and management consultancy, which was later followed by university appointments. Meg has two children, speaks fluent Japanese and some French.
Monisa Cline (USA)
Staff Vice President, North America Sales, Continental Airlines.
Monisa is responsible for leading a team of 160 sales professionals based throughout the United States and Canada who manage relationships and revenue with Fortune 1000 companies, travel management companies, online travel distributors, tour operators and cruise lines. These channels represent over $6 Billion USD in annual revenue for Continental. Cline began her airline career in 1984 as a campus representative with Eastern Airlines at the University of Florida. She joined Continental in 1986 and held positions of increasing responsibility in field, international and national sales and was promoted to staff vice president, North America sales in 2005. Monisa is based at Continental’s worldwide headquarters in Houston, Texas and celebrated 20 years with the airline last November. Cline graduated from the University of Florida in 1986 where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business. She and her husband Kevin reside in Houston, TX.
Nuria Chinchilla (Spain)
Professor of Managing People in Organizations, IESE, University of Navarra
Nuria is Professor in Managing people in organizations and Director of the International Center on Work and Family. She is an Economist and Lawyer, and holds a Ph.D. in Economics and Business Management, IESE Business School, University of Navarra, a Master in Business Administration, IESE, University of Navarra and a B.A. in Law, University of Barcelona. Her areas of specialization include women and power, family-responsible organizations managerial competencies, career and time management, interpersonal conflict and not-for-profit organizations. In 1984, she became a permanent member of IESE's faculty. Prof. Chinchilla is a business and government consultant and member of several Advisory Boards including the VIP Advisory Board of European Professional Women's Network (EPWN). She is a frequent guest speaker at European, American and African Universities and International Congresses as well as visiting professor at Business Schools such as: IPADE-México, ISE-Brasil, INALDE-Colombia, IDE-Ecuador, PAD-Perú, ESE-Chile, IAE-Argentina, IEEM-Uruguay, Lagos Business School (Nigeria), Strathmore University (Kenia). She has been the Regional Responsible in Lombardia for 5 years. Sarah Brady (United Kingdom/Italy)
Director, Global Product Communications, Global Consumer Design, Whirlpool Corporation
Sarah was appointed director, Global Product Communications, Global Consumer Design (GCD), Whirlpool Corporation in January 2008. Based at the GCD Studio in Cassinetta, Italy, she is accountable for global, strategic communications and activities supporting Whirlpool Corporation's Global Product Business Organization with a focus on employer branding, design image and innovation media. She also serves as principal external liaison for communication announcements, media relations, and public relations for Whirlpool Corporation's Corporate Technology Organization. Sarah joined Whirlpool in 1999, as director, Corporate Communications and Corporate Relations for Europe. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Modern and Medieval Languages from the University of Cambridge, a Master in Public Relations and Public Affairs from Burson-Marsteller Italia, and is currently finishing an MBA degree with the University of Liverpool.
Zohreh Tabatabai (Iran/Switzerland)
Director of Communication and Public Information, ILO
Zohreh is the Director of Communication and Public Information at the International Labour Organization, the Geneva-based U.N. agency that promotes rights at work, encourages decent employment opportunities, enhances social protection and strengthens dialogue in handling work-related issues. As a member of the ILO’s senior staff, Ms. Tabatabai has expanded the department’s mandate and has developed new strategies and tools for raising global awareness of the organization’s work. She supervises 85 staffers who are engaged in media relations, issue campaigns, publications, web activities and library services. Prior to her appointment at the ILO, Ms. Tabatabai spent 20 years at the United Nations in New York, most recently as Focal Point for Women, and previously as the Coordinator of the UN’s Fiftieth Anniversary and Chief of the UN’s Public Services Section. Before arriving at the UN in 1980, Ms. Tabatabai served nearly 10 years as a diplomat in the Foreign Ministry of Iran.
