WinConference : Quarterly newsletter
Dear colleague,
The W.I.N. 2006 Rome Global Forum “Courage to be the change” was a tremendous success and probably the most outstanding W.I.N. event ever. It had class, style, warmth, innovation, learning, creativity, growth, diversity, power, fun and 550 participants from 56 countries. If you have been there you have experienced the special W.I.N. inclusive environment and if you could not attend, a glance at our web page will inspire and motivate you to reach for your highest goals.

Looking at 2007
At W.I.N. we cherish differences and like to surprise you: after glamorous Rome our 2007 Global Forum will take you to a very different place of European culture. We have decided to take you to a pioneer country for women.

OSLO, NORWAY (26) 27-29 (30) September 2007
Gro Harlem Brundtland, former Norwegian prime minister and head of the World Health Organization, has said that Norway is a leading country in the field of equal rights. Many other countries look to Norway for inspiration and ideas on how to promote equality gender equality.
Norway's capital and largest city will creep up on you and make you very glad you came. Possessed of a staid reputation and by no measure Scandinavia's most beautiful city, low-key Oslo nonetheless has lots to see and do - it just doesn't make such a big fuss about it.
Want to gather before? Join us in Geneva at the CNG meeting, 17th November 2006
The next W.I.N. Corporate Network Meeting will be held at Mercer HR Consulting in Geneva, Switzerland, on Friday, November 17, 2006 from 09h30 – 13h00. The theme Global corporate compensation and mobility trends will be presented by Anne Rosssier-Renaud, Senior Consultant, and is based on international studies conducted by Mercer
Assigning employees to posts outside their home countries raises both strategic and tactical issues for global firms. At the strategic level, global firms need to ask: Are overseas assignments right for our business? How can we contain or reduce the related costs? Would an expatriate be a better choice than a local hire? If assignments are critical to meeting global business demands, how can we facilitate mobility and ensure equitable treatment among similarly situated employees. At the tactical level, firms must consider how to select the right people for the assignment, manage performance and communication issues, and ensure that expatriates are successfully repatriated or reassigned when their assignments are done.
Other news
At the Rome Forum we have announced a new structure for the W.I.N. scholarship fund. We want to emphasize on our commitment to widen our scholarship offer and bring to our conference young and ambitious women who need financial support. The mentor program which has also been introduced in Rome will soon be up and running. We will present you with more.
Encouraging autumn greetings
