The W.I.N. Scholarship

 

 

W.I.N.2012 - Scholarship Program

Each year W.I.N. offers financial support to a limited number of women participants via our scholarship program. In 2012 we plan to grant between 20 and 40 scholarships, financed in whole by the W.I.N. organisation. A full scholarship covers the entire conference fee, while a partial scholarship is granted for a reduced conference fee of 550 Euro. All scholarships include conference participation, lunches, coffee breaks, networking and social events. The W.I.N. scholarships do not cover travel and accommodation.

If you are interested in applying for a 2012 W.I.N. scholarship, please send us an application, before the 1st of August, including:

1) A letter stating:

  • Your motivation of why you want to join our event
  • How you believe you can contribute to W.I.N. 2012
  • Brief explanation of why you are in need of financial support to attend the conference

2) Curriculum Vitae, resume or short bio summary

Scholarship requirements:

Each recipient is required to write one article describing their experience at the conference and/or a 6 month onward reflection of what the experience gave them/what new goals they achieved after the conference.

This year W.I.N. is offering 10 Italian women the chance to attend the conference with a registration fee of 550EUR - send your scholarship application now to be a part of it!

Scholarship Recipients

The 2011 WINConference has been pleased to offer financial support to an outstanding group of women from around the world.

Here are a few of the inspiring women who will be joining the 2011 WINConference:

Ann Naicker is a daughter of the South African soil. She has worked across multiple industries within her 17 year career, including jobs with Oracle (SA), MTN, Edcon, Woolworths, SABC and Hollard. Ann Naicker believes that "Service to Mankind, is Service to GOD”, as such, she spends her personal time contributing to the economic and social development of communities, girls and women in particular. She is currently mentoring 10 professionals within the HR/OD/Business fraternity. She says: “I believe that I can promote the SA branch and form synergies within which women, the world-over, can share in South Africa and Africa’s successes”.

Rabia Sheikh is from Pakistan, 25 years old and currently working as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer whilst also pursuing a Masters in Business Administration. She says of attending the WINCOnference: “I am an ordinary person but with big dream for the betterment of this world and specially the human beings. I am expecting a great change in my life because the idea of W.I.N has inspired me a lot and hoping that it will change my life".

Avannah Abla sociologist, active member of the civil society and involved in social welfare in Togo, her recent publications are about marginalized women in Togo: “Sexuality and sexual rights in our communit” “ICT's a great opportunity for women development.”. Avannah says that she is “highly motivate to attend the upcoming conference, this should be an unique and an amazing opportunity to meet other women leaders and stakeholders involved in women issues”.

Dopgima Stella Guelleu is a Cameroonian, 26 years old, and works with the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and the Family. She obtained a double major BSC in Women and Gender studies and Sociology and Anthropology. She says that the WINConference "will help me to be an authentic leader in my community”.

Aarati Saxena is an Indian working woman making a radical change in the image of womenfolk in India, as well as social taboos and discrimination. She is the director of a Non Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB) providing a world class education and simultaneously giving them space for growth in professional and conjugal life. She is that the “WIN 2011 event, will give me a range of ideas and possibilities and accelerate initiative to empower women at NCWEB; and most importantly providing them a platform to connect with the world her aspirations and dreams without fear and inhibitions”.
