Kristin Engvig is the founder and president of WIN & WINConference. She is a renowned speaker and the driving force behind WIN's activities.
She transformed her vision of ‘bringing a more feminine, global and sustainable vision into work, communities and life’ into an annual conference - the Global WINConference - inspiring women worldwide; empowering, developing and connecting leaders.
She was born in Kristiansund, Norway. She comes from an artistic family. Her father was a photographer and she grew up in his studio surrounded by nature and the ocean.
In 1997, she started WIN while in Milan working for JPMorgan and Citibank. WIN was created as an umbrella organization for international women's associations and as a leadership organization to prepare leaders for the future. She became involved in the international community in Milan and saw the lack of support for women working abroad. In 1998, thanks to sponsorship from SDA Bocconi School of Management and with the help of a group of enthusiastic volunteers, the first WINConference was born.
In 2002, WIN and its international network of women's associations joined PWN - Professional Women's Network - contributing to the success of the initiative.
She holds an MSc in business and marketing from BI, Oslo and an MBA in Economics from Bocconi University in Milan. She is a trained actress and practices yoga and meditation on a daily basis. She has a son, Leonardo.
In 2010, Kristin has been winner of The International Alliance of Women (IAW) Award. Founded in 1904 and based in Geneva, the International Alliance of Women has general consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council.
With more than 20 years of daily experiences working with women from all continents, Kristin believes women's authentic and empowered leadership is a vital responsibility of our time.
