The W.I.N. foundation
We are profoundly grateful of the tremendous support that we receive to help us carry out our mission.
This year we continue to build on the W.I.N. foundation, which is an enrichment program that reinforces our commitment to inclusion. Through scholarship awards and a volunteer fund we are able to touch women across the globe.
A) The grant for conference participation
The scholarship program offers free or subsidized conference participation to women who exemplify the potential to become leaders of tomorrow and proven leaders operating in harsh economic environments. Applicants to this highly competitive program are selected on economic need and their potential to effect change and inspire in their home countries.
Hundreds of women have already benefited from W.I.N. scholarships since the inception of the program in 1998. In 2008 a total of 42 scholarships were awarded to exceptional women from 23 different countries. This diversity enriches the organization and the event; each recipient embraces W.I.N.’s intrinsic belief in caring and in sharing knowledge and are dedicated to promoting women’s leadership worldwide.
Most of the funds for the foundation have been given by W.I.N., with some help from community members and sponsor companies. Investing in women is part of W.I.N.’s operating policy.
B) The global trainee program
The global trainee program offers women the chance to work at W.I.N.’s European headquarters. It offers women from developing countries valuable experience, skills and knowledge, and thus brings real value to their home country as well as to the organization.
How can you contribute?
We encourage you to become part of these initiatives to allow inspiring and deserving women from all over the world to join the forum as a trainee or participant.
a) General giving to the fund
There is no minimum limit on giving. Each donation, no matter how small, makes a huge difference.
b) Sister to sister scholarship
Our new sister to sister scholarship scheme allows you to donate a full scholarship for bringing one outstanding woman from outside Europe to the forum. A donation of 3,000 Euro covers travel, administration, accommodation and the conference registration fee. You will make a huge difference to one person’s professional and personal life. If you wish W.I.N. will bring the two of you together during the conference to establish a long lasting connection. W.I.N. reserves the right to appoint the scholarship recipient.
c) Special project
W.I.N. is currently exploring ways to fund a special empowerment project for women in Sierra Leone. This project was built by a woman who received a W.I.N. scholarship in 1998.
