W.I.N. 2007 Team

Organization Structure
WW.I.N. is run by an office team of 5-9 professionals who take charge of the daily operation of the W.I.N. organization, the decision-making and its activities. An additional team of approximately 20 women assists the office team as needed for the conference. Together these two groups form the W.I.N. Team. Closely associated to the W.I.N. team are also: the Advisory Board, partner networks, sponsor companies and the W.I.N. Community. W.I.N. is run as an independent social organization and receives no public / government funding. It operates thanks to private donations (time and money) and receives sponsorships and participation fees. It is in the process of becoming a foundation.

Kristin Engvig, Norway - founder and director W.I.N.
A social entrepreneur who begun her leadership journey when she founded W.I.N. in 98 in Milan and who believes “women have a vital role to play in shaping the future”. Leadership is her passion, and she has designed and written the visionary programs of all W.I.N. forums. She has marketed, raised funds and built up the organization from her kitchen to what it now represents: a globally renowned organization. She is an innovative thinker, known for picking up trends early and encouraging women to live creatively and shape their own future. She is a frequent speaker on topics such as leadership, empowerment, networking and entrepreneurship. Kristin has worked in global companies and as international consultant in Western and Eastern Europe as well as Japan. She holds Msc degree in Business and Marketing from (HA/BI) Oslo and an MBA from SDA Bocconi, Milan. In 2006 she was finalist for the European Women of Achievement Award. Art is central in her life and she has studied and practiced acting, creativity, yoga and Zen for a number of years. She is the mother of Leonardo, 6 years old. She lives in Europe.

Anna Persson, Sweden/Italy - Conference Manager / Sponsor Relations
Anna is in charge of the finances and the overall project management of the 2007 conference. She is the key relationship account for sponsors. This is her forth year working for W.I.N. She is a skilled professional with an excellent track record in executive recruitment, human resources and general management. International in experience and outlook, completely bi-lingual in Swedish/English with fluent Italian and some German. She has worked successfully for both established and new ventures. She has a BA in Business and Administration.


Bupe K Masenga, Zambia/Zimbabwe - Speaker Relations
Bupe has 7 years of professional experience in Management, Sales and Customer Relations. She is currently studying for her Bachelors in Business Administration with the University of South Africa (UNISA). Married, no children and enjoying traveling around Europe and learning new cultures and traditions. She looks forward to applying what she is learning from people around the world to help Zimbabwe socially and economically.



Gisela Raeber, Switzerland - Corporate Network Group, Project Manager
Born in Germany, Gisela has been living in Switzerland for over 30 years. Her professional experience is in communications, advertising and Public Relations. She holds a Swiss PR degree and speaks fluently German, French, and English. She worked for over 20 years in one of the world's leading aluminium companies where she held the position of Manager Communications and Public Relations, responsible for corporate communications, corporate identity and image building throughout 15 European countries. Since she was offered early retirement in 2003 she has been working as an independent consultant and project manager in various business and charity areas. All through 2004, she has been involved in W.I.N.'s communication, sponsorship and corporate activities.


Marie O’Hara, Manager, Partner Relations and Communications
Marie has over 16 years experience working in international education management. The former Director of the U.S.-U.K. Educational Commission in London, she has also served as a trainer for the United States Department of State in Europe, Asia, Africa and the United States. She has compiled and edited numerous publications and has served as a global project manager for academic associations, global publishers, and government agencies. An English national, Marie has studied in the United States and in England. She now lives in Lausanne and is responsible for W.I.N.’s partner relations.

Ursula Vaucher, American/Swiss – Communications
Ursula recently joined W.I.N. to assist with the coordination of communication and media relation activities. As Ursula re-evaluates her future professional endeavors, she is finding the opportunity to work for W.I.N. and interact with women from all walks of life from all over the world energizing. Ursula’s professional background is in Finance, and she has worked for several prominent financial institutions in Geneva, Philadelphia and New York. The last five years, she was a financial analyst for Altria ITSC in Lausanne. Ursula earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Williams College in Massachusetts. She has been living in Lausanne for nearly 10 years with her husband and four year old daughter.

Lucie Senftova, Czech Republic – W.I.N. Research Projects
Previously Lucie worked on gender equality and international development issues at UNESCO, OECD and the World Bank. She co-authored an article with Valentine Moghadam on “Measuring Women’s Empowerment: Participation and Rights in Civil, Political, Social, Economic, and Cultural Domains” and helped prepare the publication Empowering Women: Rights, Participation, and Women’s Movements in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia, for which she is a co-author of the appendix table on measuring women’s empowerment in the three regions. She has been cooperating with the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), where she undertook research on gender differences and similarities in management and leadership. At W.I.N. Lucie was responsible for liaising with W.I.N. 2006 speakers and this year for research projects.

Andrijana Mandic, Serbia – PR and Communications
Andrijana holds a BA in English language and literature. Starting off her career as a translator/interpreter in the artistic field, she decided to move into marketing and communications. During four years of work in advertising with Publicis, she handled major international brands such as Coca-Cola, L’Oréal, British Airways, Hewlett-Packard, etc. She is bilingual in Serbian/English, speaks French and some Greek. Having joined the W.I.N. team in 2006, Andrijana has been assisting with communication issues.


Mariana Prado, Argentina – Graphic Design
Mariana is in charge of graphic design for W.I.N. Global Forum 2006. She graduated as a Graphic Designer at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, and holds a Marketing Post grade from the Universidad de San Andres. After working for Zona Uno studio during 2001/2002, she started her own entrepreneurial projects. The first company she created -GIOA- was dedicated to the design and commercialization of women accessories in Argentina and Venezuela. In 2003 she set up her own web design venture, which she has been growing since then. Mariana speaks Spanish, English, and French. Her current responsibilities at W.I.N. provide her the opportunity to be in contact with women that are making a difference in the way of exercising leadership.

Monica Takyi-Appiah, Ghana
Monica holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics & French from the University of Ghana and the Institut Universitaire des Hautes Etudes International/ University of Geneva. Her work experience includes four years of Consumer banking with Ecobank Ghana Limited, a six-month internship with the United Nations Conference on Trade & Development in Geneva and Delegate Liaison for W.I.N. 2004. Proficient in English and French, Monica looks forward to using her Economics background to work on project planning and policy analysis in sub-Saharan Africa and other developing regions. Working with W.I.N. offers her a golden opportunity to meet and learn from successful women.

Sarah Heery, UK/Switzerland
Having completed a MA in History of Art at the Courtauld Institute in London, Sarah has joined the W.I.N. team, assisting with P.R. and other issues linked with communication. She has been a part of the W.I.N. team on previous occasions, volunteering for the 2003 and 2004 Forums. She has worked in administration for a small trading company in Lausanne, and as an external consultant in editing for UNCTAD. She holds a BA in Italian and History from Oxford University.

Katarina Leger, Sweden – Marketing and Partnerships
Is currently working full time at IMD in Switzerland. She is a member of the research team and specializes in leadership, management and talent development strategy. With two kids at home, Katarina knows all about the challenges working mothers face when it comes to work/life balance. Passionate about changing the workplace to better accommodate the needs of women she sees W.I.N as a valuable platform for inspirational work and a catalyst for change. She worked full time for WIN in 2006 and now pitch in as much as she can. She has served as an employer branding specialist for the international research and consulting firm Universum Communications, in Stockholm, Sweden and in New York, U.S. She has also spent time working and studying at Harvard University in Cambridge, and as a Swedish national she holds a Masters degree from the Business School at Stockholm University.

Elisabet Lufthus (Norway)
Elisabet has education in computer technology and was working ten years with operating Systems before she took some supplementary training in economic and project management. She is now working as a project manager in Component Software, responsible for implementing workflow systems. This is Elisabet first year as voluntarily in the W.I.N team."

Francesca Romana Rubino (Italy)
International individual tax advisor, specialized in expatriates consultancy, i.e. in advising people moving to Italy or from Italy about their fiscal, social security, remuneration and legal needs. Tax preparer of Italian Individual tax returns Furthermore, thanks to a 2-year experience in New York City, tax preparer of US Individual tax returns.

Kari Nysted (Norway)
Kari has 18 years professional experience from various IT positions within IT, oil/gaz and finance/insurance – rangning from Product Development Manager to Project Manager to System consultant. In 2006 she founded TechnoCoach a company spezialising in delivering coaching services towards the IT industry. Her formal coaching background includes a NLP Trainers certificate and start of a Co-Active Coaching training. As a coach Kari is passionate to help you and your employers to find a good balance in your working life, to get knowledge of techniques to communicate effectively and selfmotivational techniques for the manager and team. Kari is a solutionoriented and process-coach who utilizes her full range of experience from technical to leadership knowledge. Kari has based and developed her personal coaching techniques on two main models, NLP and Co-Active coaching. In her work she combines relevant techniques with her professional IT experience for teams, individuals and business processes based on her clients needs. A constant curiosity to learn more and to develop her skills drives Kari to continously grow and expand her knowledge in coaching techniques and IT business life in general." Languages: Fluency in English, good knowledge of French and German and some Spanish.

Katarina Vrebalovich
I am an artist working in different medias. I have published 54 paintings for a psychological toolkit,"The Key to the Universe". I recently completed a community encouragement project with a huge public art mural in mosaic. I am dedicated to communication through the visual arts and the inspiration it can generate. education: Parsons school of design .N.Y.C. speak english,norwegian,french,german and a little arabic.

Kristen Cain
Kristen has over 6 years of professional experience in the fashion world and loves focusing on the art of craft and design. After pursuing a BA in English and Studio Art from T C U and a BFA in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design, she has worked for various designers and stylists in New York, Paris, New Delhi, San Francisco, and Rome. Her experience includes designing silhouettes for collections, developing prototypes, editing collections, collaborating with magazines, showroom consulting, and dressing actresses and models. While always striving to develop her expertise in fashion design (womenswear, wedding gowns, and fashion history), she remains passionate about enviromentally sound fabrics and modes of production as well as fair-trade ethics for workers in the garment industry. She speaks English (mother-tongue), proficient Italian and an intermediate level of French.

Justin Cordier Svedsen (France)
Justine Cordier Svendsen is a French lawyer who previously worked within an American law firm in Paris , focusing on corporate and commercial transactions. She has a post-graduate degree in corporate and tax law from the University of Aix en Provence , France, and a Master of Laws in media, communication, IP and IT law from the University of New South Wales in Sydney , Australia . She moved to Oslo few months ago and has been studying Norwegian since then. She decided to join the W.I.N Team 2007 since she believes in the key role of women in society, as well as in knowledge and experience sharing that make people think differently.

Patience Allen (United States)
Executive Director for my own business focused on international arts management and exhibitions (www.thenewglasscompany.com) and Executive Director of Forretningsutvikling Oslo AS (www.etablere.no) a small consulting firm focused on helping entrepreneurs set up their own businesses. BA from the University of Chicago and MBA focused on entrepreneurship from the University of Michigan Business School. I have worked with entrepreneurs in four different countries and have over 10 years in arts nonprofit management and publishing. I am proud to be the current Board President of AIPBW and a member of EuropeanPWN.

Rashmi Rai (India)
I am Research Associate at University of St.Gallen, Switzerland. I love exploring new lands not only on the globe but also in life in form of new opportunities. In nutshell my personality could be described in few words \"Iron fist under a Velvet glove\".

Sara Tocchetti
I'm always having some difficulties in describing my self, since I'm trying to learn to be used to as many as different environments as possible. Trained as an evolutionary biologist, I now involved with issued such as science and society, scientific policy and bioethics. Since I'm also interested in women in science issues, being par of WIN conference team will be a great occasion to discover and understand challenges and difficulties women encounter while entering the business sector. I look forward to meet all of you in Oslo!
