Eve Holt, Strategic Director at GreaterSport and Councillor at Manchester City Council

I am a Director at GreaterSport, providing strategic leadership for Greater Manchester Moving, and a Councillor on Manchester City Council.  I’m a system thinker, coach, convenor and disruptor for good. Previously a Public Law and Human Rights lawyer for 15 years.  I’m involved in various women’s organisations to include being a trustee at GM4Women2028. I’m passionate about women and girls’ participation and representation in politics, physical activity and sport.  I’m excited at the potential to unite as a movement and to realise the future that is possible, leading the way for a more equitable and sustainable future for all. Prof. Helen Pankhurst CBE, Convenor of GM4Women2028

Helen Pankhurst CBE is a development and international women’s rights activist working as an advisor to CARE International - primarily in Ethiopia and in the UK. She is also a Professor at MMU and the First Chancellor of the University of Suffolk. She holds an honorary doctorate from Edge Hill University and the University of Manchester. The granddaughter of Sylvia, great-granddaughter of Emmeline Pankhurst, Helen carries on the legacy. This has included involvement in the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics and in the 2015 film Suffragette and leading CARE International’s #March4Women march and events on or around International Women’s Day in London. She convenes the Centenary Action Group (a coalition addressing barriers to women in politics) and GM4Women2028 (a charity looking at data and the lives of women and girls in Greater Manchester). 

Isabella Phoenix, Director, HP Global Channel Sustainability Strategy & Enablement

Isabella is a world citizen who is passionate about sustainability and drives real and visible change that makes a difference to the planet, people and community. Today she leads the innovative and trail blazing HP Amplify Impact, a global channel sustainability program for over 10000 HP business partners in 43 countries. She is an exceptional multi-lingual omnichannel/digital executive with extensive international business experience in channel, sales and marketing functions in the technology (consumer & commercial) and FMCG sectors in established and emerging markets. She is outstanding as a leader of results-orientated multi-functional teams, with a proven record of excellent people management and strong operational skills. Isabella also co-founded the internationally renowned Architects of Air, whose Luminarias have enchanted 3 million visitors in over 44 countries, and she is an IMD alumni.

Lucy Danger, Chief Executive, EMERGE 3Rs

Lucy has skilfully driven the EMERGE Group from its inception in 1996. A voluntary pressure group, it has a unique position as a leading Social Enterprise and recognised, trusted provider of commercial waste and recycling services across the Greater Manchester city-region. A Trustee of FareShare UK, Lucy has received praise for her insights into the operational challenges and opportunities facing the charity in its growth over the past 5 years, not least from a social enterprise expert practitioner perspective. Lucy is passionate about the sustainability and environmental agenda. She is a member and supporter of Lancashire and Cheshire Wildlife Trusts and Friends of the Earth. She is also passionate about ‘good food’ and raising awareness generally about food provenance, production, cooking and nutrition. Other interests include social equality, mental health, antiques and reuse, gardening and the arts.

Dr. rehena Harilall, CEO Director, eVolve Consulting Solutions, Founder: Under One Sun & BAT

rehena celebrates African and South Asian heritages and grew up in the South African apartheid regime. An activist and psychologist she has been involved in various reconstruction and development programmes post democratic elections. She lives in London, working internationally as a management consultant advising FTSE 500 companies on strategy and post-merger integrations- building on her career with KPMG, EY and McKinsey & Partners. She retains her passion for social justice and is currently coaching and delivering a leadership program for young women of the Global Majority; and engaged in ecological renewal projects in the rural areas of Kwazulu-Natal and Uganda.

Nazir Afzal OBE, International Adviser on Rule of Law & Former Chief Prosecutor

Nazir Afzal OBE was Chief Crown Prosecutor for NW England and formerly Director in London. Most recently, he is independent Chair of the London Fire Brigade review and the new Chancellor of Manchester University. He was also Chief Executive of the country’s Police & Crime Commissioners, Independent Chair of safeguarding at the Catholic Church and Independent Member of Oxfam’s safeguarding group. During a 24-year career, has prosecuted some of the most high-profile cases in the country and led nationally on several legal topics including Violence Against Women & Girls, child sexual abuse, and honour-based violence. He had responsibility for more than 100,000 other prosecutions each year, many of which helped change the landscape of child protection, including those of the Rochdale grooming gang and BBC presenter Stuart Hall. The award-winning BBC Film “Three Girls” was based on his case. He assists the UN on rule of law and gives considerable time to charitable work.

Caroline Kende-Robb, Senior Adviser, African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET)

I have spent the last 30 years working in humanitarian and development diplomacy and leadership. Currently, I work as a Senior Adviser at African Center for Economic Transformation a Pan-African think-tank influencing policy across Africa and globally. Prior to joining ACET, I was Secretary General of CARE International; the Chief Adviser to the Rt. Hon. Gordon Brown at the Education Commission; and the Executive Director of the Africa Progress Panel, where I had the honor to work closely with Kofi Annan, the foundation’s chair. For over 16 years, I worked at the World Bank and the IMF as a senior manager. I began my career in 1983 as a manager with Marks and Spencer Plc. I then lived in The Gambia for over five years, working initially with the Gambian Government in community development and living in the village of Tanji where I learnt to speak Mandinka. I have an MSc in Social Policy from LSE and I am currently a Board Director for Global Financial Integrity and a Trustee for CAMFED focused on girls’ education in Africa.

John Robb, Editor, Louder Than War, Green Britain Academy and Musician

John Robb is a many-faceted creature. His recent initiatives include the ground-breaking scheme - Green Britain Academy to train up to 700 000 apprentices in Eco jobs and Borders Blurred - a gaming and music agency with a twist. Former talking head singer from post-punk mainstays, The Membranes, he was one of the leading post punk fanzine writers in the UK with ‘Rox’ before he went on to write for the rock press with Sounds in the 80s. 

He is a frequent commenter on music, culture and politics on TV and radio, his YouTube channel and site, louderthanwar.com. He also hosts the yearly music festival, Louder Than Words. He has written many books such as ‘Punk Rock - an Oral History’, ‘The Stone Roses and the Resurrection of British Pop’ and in 2021 a book about Eco energy boss Dale Vince called ‘Manifesto’. He is currently finishing a new book on Goth and post punk called ’The Art of Darkness’, a collected book of his journalism and his own autobiography.

Carol Ann Whitehead FRSA, CMgr, CCMI, Managing Director, The Zebra Partnership

A Non-Executive Director, Companion of the Chartered Management Institute, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and Global Goodwill Ambassador, Carol Ann is the award winning Managing Director of The Zebra Partnership - a Publishing, Events, Campaigns and Marketing agency. She is Executive Director of ITV National Diversity Awards nominated Your Manchester Media with viewers over a million in 2021. Carol Ann is guest lecturer at the University of Manchester. She has delivered ‘Improving Wiki Diversity’ lectures at the United Nations Youth Association (UNYA) in Denmark, mentored them to host their own Wikieditathon event and hosted a UNYA intern. Carol Ann is on the Northern Power Women Power List and Pankhurst Trust Ambassador. In 2021 Carol Ann was honoured to be named in ConnectAID top 100 Social Media Influencers for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

Claire-Marie Boggiano, Director & Coach, Lurig Change & Development

Claire-Marie is a Chartered Engineer holding an MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School. Her early career was in Financial Services & she established her own Business Change & Leadership Development business in 2003, Lurig Ltd.  Claire-Marie works with blue chip clients such as Rolls-Royce, AstraZeneca, BASF, the NHS & GMCA. She also works with smaller high growth companies and provides coaching & mentoring to individuals making personal transitions in the corporate arena and to entrepreneurs. She has extensive experience of coaching executives and business professionals through complex change. Claire-Marie is involved in many initiatives that support women and girls across Greater Manchester, including Queen Bee Coaching which is a Pankhurst Trust Service, GM4Women and Manchester City Council International Women’s Day Steering Group.  She has recently taken on a role as Lecturer in Leadership at the University of Salford. Claire-Marie has been part of WIN since 2007, as a participant and speaker and was pivotal in bringing WIN to Manchester in 2018.

Kristin Engvig, CEO & Founder, WIN & WINConference

A global pioneer for women and authentic leadership, Kristin created WIN 25 years ago to bring alive a vision of a more feminine, global and sustainable way at work, in communities and life. Thousands of individuals and hundreds of world-class companies have attended WIN’s live experiences across Europe as well as in India, Nigeria, Japan and the United Arab Emirates. She was recently awarded the EuroKnowledge Outstanding Women Leadership Award and has also been recognized by the CEO for Life Awards, Diversity Global Magazine and the International Alliance of Women. In her early career she worked for JP Morgan, Citibank and Innovation Norway, EU and as a strategy and marketing consultant. A business economist (BI, Oslo) with an MBA (Milan’s Bocconi), she has also completed a wealth of interdisciplinary studies including acting and yoga. She attends global meetings such as the W7 of the G7 and the Nobel Peace Prize Forum, and she also chaired the Women in Leadership meeting at the Davos SDG tent in 2020.
